On Your Mark

He's a rock legend seeking silence.

She's a classical virtuoso who's sworn off love.

The music they create together wasn't in either of their plans.

Guitar icon Mark Owens has everything—fame, fortune, and a Rock Hall of Fame induction with his band Incendiary Ink. What he doesn't have are answers to what comes next. Escaping to a rental house in Woodstock, Vermont during a rainstorm, he finds himself reluctantly adopting a stray dog who darts through his door. The last thing Mark needs is responsibility for another living creature when he can barely figure out his own life, but something about the scrappy mutt speaks to him.

Eight years ago, violinist Rebecca Morgan (“Becks”) walked away from her celebrated Boston Symphony Orchestra career after a tragedy that stole her husband and her desire for the spotlight. Now she teaches gifted students and plays for herself on her porch each evening, with only her golden retriever Mozart for an audience.

Until the night an acoustic guitar joins in from the neighboring house.

Their nightly musical conversations become the highlight of their days, even before they meet face-to-face. As their dogs form an unlikely friendship, Mark and Becks discover a connection neither expected—one that forces them both to confront their pasts and their fears about the future.

But when Mark's public life inevitably crashes into their private sanctuary, Becks must decide if she's ready to step back into a world she deliberately left behind. And Mark needs to determine if what he's been searching for has been waiting in a small Vermont town all along.

The sweetest melodies are often the ones we never planned to play.
